January can be hard for some people. It’s dark and cold, the holidays are over and there is not much for which to look forward for quite a while. On the other hand, January is what some people have been waiting for, perhaps for a while. It represents new beginnings and new possibilities; it’s a time to try new things or to get back on track with things that have worked in the past. What is it for you? I offer a challenge to Christians, myself included: “Be more positive this year. Choose to look on the brighter side, choose to look for lessons that can be learned and choose to find ways to encourage others.” Jesus came to bring us life more abundantly, and so, my challenge is for us to live like we really believe it. Change your focus this year. Do hard things without complaining. Challenge yourself and grow without whining. Be the light of the world that Jesus tells us to be.
